Product designs by students
M S Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies, offers Product Design Post Graduate Engineering Course at Product Design Centre. As a part of this design course students undergo various modules starting from creativity related foundation course to various product design modules.
The foundation course culminates into Ankur exhibition showcasing design works of students. The exhibition was inaugurated by Prankaj Jhunja, GM Renault Design India on October 12 at the School premises.
Creative workshop
Ankur is the exhibition of creative works done by the product design students of M S Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies, during the 4 weeks of foundation module. Students are exposed to creativity, sketching and realistic rendering of products, toy design, colours etc. in this module. Exercises like identifying bad designs in our surroundings to increase observation senses in designers and depiction of air travel in India for visualization of an abstract idea. Creating new products out of waste materials allows them to think about environment friendly designs and extending the life of products by reuse. Re-design of a vegetable cart shows the creativity of the student, where he needs to understand the user and the environment in which the cart is used.
The successful completion of this module instigates the students to come out of the box and think differently. This is the first step into the World of Design. During the upcoming modules and projects students will be free to apply their creativity and lateral thinking capabilities to solve problems.
