The second expansion since the government was sworn in five months ago, made clear that Satish Mishra’s hold on the government remained strong. Mishra’s cousin Anant Kumar Mishra was elevated to cabinet rank while another Brahmin minister of state Ranganath Mishra was also promoted.

The new Cabinet Ministers are Nand Gopal Gupta, K K Gautam, Chandrika Ram Yadav and Ashok Kumar while the two Ministers of State are Bhagwati Sagar and Jaiveer Singh.

Other ministers of state who were elevated to Cabinet ranks are Badshah Singh and Abdul Mannan.
