Bopanna outplays hapless Arun

Sajan Bopanna outplayed MS Arun in straight frames (4-0) in the 38th Senior State-ranking snooker tournament at the KSBA hall on Wednesday.

MEG Boys ‘B’ score over Postal

MEG Boys ‘B’ pumped in three second-half goals to post a 4-1 comeback win over Postal in a phase II encounter of the D.S. Murthy & V.Karunakaran memorial hockey tournament at the KSHA stadium on Wednesday.

Prakash Chalke put Postal ahead in the 12th minute but MEG Boys restored parity through Punith Bengra three minutes later.

David Dung Dung the increased the MEG Boys’ tally in the opening minute after break while Punith again struck in the 50th minute to make it 3-1. Ajay Kumar Pal finished off the scoring with a 58th-minute strike.

Queenstar drub Town SC

Riding on a hat-trick by Chandru (19th, 24th, 40th), Queenstar trounced Town SC (Hoskot) 6-0 in the ‘C’ Division football league at the ITI ground on Wednesday. Indrajith struck twice (48th, 68th) for the winners while Roni started the goal spree in the 15th minute.

In another league tie at the Malleswaram Corporation ground, Crescent and Vehicles split points with a goalless draw.

Hyderabad PS down Oxford

Hyderabad Public School got the better of Oxford, Bangalore, 3-0 on the second day of the CBSE cluster VII football tournament on Wednesday.

Venkatesh struck a brace for the winners while Sridhar found the target once.

Corporate football tourney

Sportz Village will conduct a five-a-side corporate football tournament on November 17, 18, 24, 25 and December 1 at St John’s Medical college in Koramangala. The last date for entries is November 1.

State-level kabaddi meet

Mohandas Karamchand Mahatma Gandhiji Social Welfare Organisation will organise a floodlit kabaddi tournament for men and women at the Gandhi Vidya Shala ground in Srirampuram.

Teams affiliated to the Karnataka Rajya Amateur Kabaddi Association are eligible to participate.
