Leaders of Surendra Mohan faction of JD(S) and Bahujan Samaj Party workers on Wednesday staged a protest demanding immediate disolution of the State Legislative Assembly in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue on MG Road.
Former minister PGR Sindhia said as the assembly is kept under suspended animation, political parties are trying to woo legislators by illegal means. The governor should dissolve the assembly immediately and recommend for mid-term polls.
If the elected body is not set up to govern the State early the development works will suffer, he said. Mr Sindhia blamed former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy for the present situation. If he had taken leaders of the party into confidence before forming a coalition with the BJP the State would not have faced this, he said.
