Students of Sri Bhagawan Mahavir Jain College’s Centre for Management Studies on Wednesday presented their mission, vision, strategies and object to bring about a social change, at an induction programme which marked the first day of the Voice (Voluntary Organisation of Integrated Community Enterprises) for India.
Around 380 first year BBM students of the college have formed four clubs — Ace, Zest, Sync and Synergy — under Voice for India. Ace and Sync are organ donation clubs while Zest and Synergy are elders’ clubs. They will run the clubs as corporate, with a professional approach.
The mission of Sync is saving lives by promoting organ donation. The club has prepared a database with information and statistics on organ donation and transplantation.
“We will meet people personally and portray the whole picture for them with our presentations. This will relate people closely to the issue and we hope to convince many of them to sign for organ donation willingly,” said its Chairman Vishal J.
Synergy’s vision is to become the best and the biggest elders’ serving club in Karnataka by the year 2009 and that of India soon after that. “To give the elderly a pleasant second innings of their lives, we will organise excursions, mini carnivals besides various competitions and health classes for them. We want them to be happy for the rest of their lives,” said Kunal, Chairman of Synergy.
The objectives of Voice for India is to act instead of complaining and blaming, sensitise the citizens on social issues, start social entrepreneurship programs and spread the conduct of good citizenry.
Clubs at different colleges and schools will work differently as the social projects will be according to the academics, said Sajan Bopanna, COO and Senior Project Manager of Voice for India.
