Air show dazzles spectators
DH News Service, Mysore:

Regimental pageantry that came alive in the form of the Police Band, in front of the Mysore Palace took one back to the colonial era, the musical feast that the audience was treated to, final events that were held in various sporting events, including athletics, at the Chamundi Vihar stadium, the air show that dazzled the viewers, formations like ‘Akash Ganga’ (of last year’s show) not being present, notwithstanding, were the breathtaking moments on Day Six of Dasara. Saralaya sisters and Mysore M Nagaraj and Mysore M Manjunath, presented a vocal duet and violin duet respectively at the Palace.

Apart from this, there was Sonu Nigam with his all time greats, as thousands in the audience lost a heartbeat or two in the ecstatic moments on stage. The city, on its part, saw the number of tourists swell as the final days of the city’s annual showcase event is fast approaching.

The play ‘Beechi bullets’ and filming of documentary on Raja Ravi Varma at Rangayana as part of Navaratri Rangotsava, ‘garbha dance’ by Mysore Gujarati Samaj at Krishna Gana Sabha, the ‘Aralu Kavigoshti’ for upcoming poets at Kalamandir, were the other events of the day that left the Mysoreans and tourists asking for more. Vegetable carving competition was the highlight at the flower show at the Curzon Park.
