Agitation threatened
Mysore: With just four days left for the grand Dasara procession, folk artistes have threatened to disrupt the star event to protest against the alleged ill-treatment.
They have demanded that the step-mothely treatment meted out to them should end before October 20.
Prof Lingadevaru Halemane, convenor of the Federation of Progressive Associations, which is backing the artistes, announced at a press meet on Wednesday that folk artistes would stage a ‘dharna’ on October 20 in front of Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry, where they are staying. If their demands are not met even then, they would hold a protest during Dasara procession in a different way, he added.
