Former minister B R Pail has demanded that the Chief Election Commission should introduce an advanced scientific method to prepare voters’ list.

Addressing a press conference in Bangalore on Thursday, Mr Patil said that there are many instances of eligible voters losing chance to vote, due to discrepancies in the voters’ list. Denial of chance to vote will have its effect on the results.

He said names of those who have moved from one place to another seldom get a chance to vote. The Election Commission should bring in a system which ensures that every eligible candidate exercises his franchise.

Mr Patil said that he has already written to the EC for improvements and would also meet the President in this regard.
