Bus runs over three

Chintamani, dhns: As many as three persons were killed on spot when a KSRTC bus ran over them on Kolar-Chintamani road on Wednesday night.

The deceased have been identified as Kachahalli Nanjappa (47), Kurutahalli Srirama Reddy (45) and Varadappa (48) of Kallur village in Srinivaspur taluk.

The three persons while travelling in a two-wheeler, after seeing the headlight from the oncoming vehicle, were pushed aside and fell down. There were no streetlights and it was raining, it is said. The driver of the bus lost his control and finally the bus ran over the three, killing them on spot, it is learnt.

The mishap occurred when the three were returning from the town to their village Kachahalli.

DySP Narayanappa, Circle Inspector Suryanarayana Rao, Sub Inspector Mallikarjun, Srinivas and staff visited the spot and shifted the bodies to hospital. The police have registered the case and seized the bus.

Drunkard ends life

Gauribidnur, dhns: Narasimha Murthy (35) a resident of Kamaganahalli, which is 12 km from Gauribidanur city, committed suicide on Tuesday.

Narasimhamurthy and his brother-in-law had taken to heavy drinking since a couple of months. Recently, Narasimhamurthy’s brother-in-law committed suicide. So unable to forget his death Narasimhamurthy resorted to heavy drinking, according to sources. Finally, unable to contain his grief, he too committed suicide by hanging himself to a mango tree on the bank of the river on Tuesday.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters. The police officials visited the spot and a case has been registered with the rural police.

Woman hangs self

Gauribidanur, dhns: Anitha (25) committed suicide on Tuesday morning at a house in Chikkakurugodu village.

She is said to have been suffering from some skin disorder and the treatment of it seemed ineffective.

Disappointed with this she hung herself to the iron pipe of the roof of the house and killed herself.

She worked as an employee with a garments factory in Doddaballapur, according to police sources.

A case has been registered with the rural police.

Another suicide

Bangarapet, dhns: Manjula (24) dejected in life consumed poison and took her own life on Monday.

She is the daughter of Narayanappa, a resident of Kadirenahalli. Manjula had been suffering from heart problem since a couple of years and unable to bear the pain she ended her life.

A case has been registered with the police by Manjula’s father.
