The KCCI has requested the Chief Commissioner of Customs to start the Air Cargo Complex at Mangalore Airport at the earliest. In a letter to Commissioner Heera Radhakrishnan, KCCI President Kumble Narasimha Prabhu has said that the air cargo complex is very much necessary for the development of the region.
He expressed willingness to comply on the basis of the guidelines the commissioner has mentioned in a previous letter and opined that approximately 3 to 5 tonnes of cargo will be available at Mangalore Airport initially, but it will increase gradually.
