The Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering of Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) will be organising an international conference on ‘Advances in Manufacturing Engineering’ (ICAME-2007) on October 24 at MIT.
Addressing a press meet here on Thursday, Head of the Department and the Convener of the programme Dr A M Chincholkar informed that Major General A K Sinha, Chief Engineer of the Southern Command of Indian Army, will inaugurate the conference while General Manager of Larson and Turbo P R Prabhu will be the chief guest.
Dr Chincholkar informed that professors from IIT Delhi will deliver Keynote addresses in the conference in which about 200 delegates are expected to attend.
In addition to papers on the conference theme “Recent advances, developments and challenges in manufacturing,” the scholars are also encouraged to submit papers on a variety of topics related to manufacturing such as Modeling and simulation concepts, FMS, Automation and Robotics, Metal cutting and tool engineering, composites, Advanced material removal methods and so on, Dr Chincholkar informed. MIT faculty members Dr Chandrasekhar Bhat and Dr S S Sharma were present at the press meet.
