Ullal MLA U T Khader on Thursday called upon Governor Rameshwar Thakur and apprised him on the slackened pace of development in his Assembly constituency over the past 20 months.
The Congress MLA told the Governor that Ullal had been grossly sidelined during allocation of infrastructure projects in the tenure of the previous JD(S)-BJP coalition government.
“Houses and sites haven’t been distributed to the landless poor in the region and hakku patras haven’t been distributed to those who live on government land either... even the distribution of ration cards hasn’t taken off,” Mr Khader said. Mr Khader urged the Governor to consider clearance of grants for roads and water supply projects in Ullal and release the Rs 15-crore fund component for the project to tackle the problem of sea erosion in the region. He also requested the Governor to soon pay a visit to Ullal.
