“If I Fail Here, I Will Fail All Over”
Bangalore, Oct. 18.
“If I fail here, I will fail in the whole of India,” declared Acharya Vinoba Bhave who has pinned his hopes on Bangalore for the success of Sarvodaya.
Explaining the reasons for his six-day stay in the city, the longest at any place in India during his Padayatra, Acharya Bhave said that Bangalore is the industrial and cultural centre of South India.
“Bangalore is Karnataka Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra put together,” he said, pointing out that all the four South Indian language groups lived and laboured here.
Chundrigar Calls For Friendship
Karachi, Oct. 18.
The new Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr I J Chundrigar, declared here tonight: “Friendship between India and Pakistan is essential to make use of their available resources for raising the standard of living of millions of people inhabilating the two countries. These two countries must co-operate if they have to achieve economic progress.”

Zia, Indira To Hold Talks In Delhi

New Delhi, Oct. 18.
Gen Zia-ul-Haq, President and Chief Martial Law Administrator of Pakistan, will make a stopover here on November 1 on his way to Malaysia and Indonesia.
During his brief halt in the capital, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi will host a lunch for the President and the two leaders will also hold discussions. A spokesman of the External Affairs Ministry said today that the two Heads of government had been in touch with each other for quite sometime over the possibility of Gen Zia’s Delhi stopover.
