Common sense is not so common. Well, certainly not because that has earned Jawed Habib his fame. "I talk common sense and I don't go against nature," says the hair expert who wants to make hair dressing a respected profession in the country.
Eat balanced diet. Have gram, rice and milk. It will provide necessary nourishment for your body and hair, he says adding that positive thoughts are very important for healthy hair.
Against common myth, Jawed says, "I don't recommend long hair. Length is not important; it is texture that is important." Introducing another state-of-art saloon in Bangalore in JP Nagar, Habib speaks of one of his famous clients from south. Former president APJ Abdul Kalam got his famous hair do from Habib and why? Habib explains, "He has curly hair. If you cut them short, they will poke out. I needed to retain the length." As simple as that. It is only about logics, he grins.
Jawed, who styled hair of two ladies in the inaugurated saloon in JP Nagar, addressed balding people and said, "One needs to remember that hair once gone will not come back. It is important to know the cause of losing hair and trying to rectify it".
Home remedies consume a lot of your time. Apart from methi dana and henna, which are good conditioners and provide good colour to hair, rest can be ignored. "Even herbal products have preservatives, so don't kid your self. Switch to products that suit your hair more," he emphasized. "Herbal culture is passé now."
Jawed Habib is planning to come up with a retail store which will be called "Hair Shop" and will have products related to various needs of hair. He is all set to explore various aspects of this new emerging profession.
When asked to comment on various products for hair, he says, "All are good and none is good." He explains, it is not about product but it is about "your hair type" and its need.
As a professional, he wants to use his scissors on Lalu's hair and thinks that Shahrukh has the worst hair do among celebrities. "Hair dresser is a doctor for your hair," this is his belief and wants the world to believe it too.
