The JD(S) top brass will take a decision on either to face the mid-term elections or to forge an alliance to form the Government, after October 22.
Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy told reporters in Bangalore that the leaders will sit and discuss both options after Vijayadashami.
Meanwhile, he along with N Chaluvarayaswamy, held talks with Mr Prakash at the latter’s residence on Thursday morning.
Later, they met the party supremo H D Deve Gowda and held a meeting. But they did not disclose as to what transpired in the meeting. According to insiders, Mr Gowda stuck to his guns and advised them to seek a fresh mandate.
