Amidst thousands of devotees at the foothill of Brahmagiri at 8:20 in the morning, one minute ahead of the scheduled time at Tula Sankramana Muhurta, Cauvery manifested herself, on Thursday. Though the police had tightened security at Talacauvery pool, the place where Cauvery is born, the devotees who had been waiting for long on seeing the Cauvery manifesting herself jumped into the pool and immersed themselves in its sacred water.
Even as the Theerthodbhava happened at 8:19 am, the purohit sprinkled the sacred water on the devotees, who had thronged the venue to witness it. The devotees after taking bath at Triveni Sangama in Bagamandala, the confluence of rivers Cauvery, Kannike and Sujyothi and offering prayers at Bagandeshwara, they headed towards the foothill of Brahmagiri.
