A public interest litigation was filed in the High Court on Thursday questioning the district-level recruitment of primary teachers.
In their petition, Gundappa Apparaya and 24 other teachers have sought abrogation of certain provisions of the cadre and recruitment rules.
The counsel for the petitioners Jagadish Shastry argued that if the district level appointments were made, only those who appeared for tests within the particular district, would be eligible for selection.
A division bench comprising Justice Ram Mohan Reddy and H Billappa has posted the hearing on a later date.
Builders restrained
A division bench headed by Justice Ram Mohan Reddy has restrained the Bagmane Developers Limited from taking up further construction of building or letting off sewerage water into the area marked out by tahsildar adjacent to the ‘Kelaginakere- Bairasandra kere’ at C V Raman Nagar in K R Puram Hobli.
The bench gave the direction following a public interest litigation filed in the court.
In the petition, it is stated that the developers had encroached upon 10 lakh sqft land belonging to the tank.The counsel for the petitioners has sought a direction for constituting a high-level committee by the government.
