Parts of south Bangalore plunged into darkness following heavy rains in the City on Friday night.
BESCOM sources said power supply was disrupted as there was short circuit in some transformers. Technicians were trying to restore the power supply but the work was hampered due to the rains, they added.
According to the Met Department, the city received 5 mm rain till 1130 pm. The rains were due to the trough developed in the interior parts of Karnataka. Following rains, water gushed into houses in some low-lying areas. Vehicular movement was also affected on some roads.
