In a city where the culture of junk food and fast food consumption poses a serious threat to the health of people, Talwalkars, a health and fitness brand in the country has opened its fourth centre in the City at J P Nagar.
The world billiards champion Pankaj Advani inaugurated the fitness centre. Spread over an area of 5500 sq feet, the centre has a Health cafe, Aerobics studio, Nutrition counselling centre, Sauna, Gymnasium, Massage centre in addition to the regular fitness equipments.
New concept
The attraction of the new centre is the introduction of Gyro Kinesis, a system of excersise derived from yoga, dance, gymnastics, and Tai Chi.
It incorporates a series of rhythmic movements which give strength and flexibility to joints of the body. Among the 45 branches of Talwalkars in the country, Gyro Kinesis has been introduced only in Bangalore and Chennai centres.
The centre has also embarked on a new initiative in retail industry, called ‘Talwalkars fit and active’, which offers health, fitness and gym services within the shopping and consumption centres. Through this project, Talwalkars will retail best in class fitness equipments and accessories to its customers.
Going strong
“Spreading fitness has been our motto since the past 75 years and we have been doing this quite successfully. With over 45 branches accross the country, we are the largest chain of health and fitness centres in the country and the second largest in Asia”, said Madhukar Talwalkar, the chairman of the group.
Located on 100 ft ring road, J P Nagar 2nd phase, the new centre is a seven star health club and is accessible to all the health enthusiasts. The centre comprises almost 25 trainers and can accommodate more than 1000 members.
