3 suicides in city

 Three persons committed suicide in separate incidents in the City on Sunday. A girl hanged herself at her Mathikere residence. She has been identified as Sangeetha (16), a first year PU student.  According to the police, Sangeetha was a meritorious student. Of late, she had been focusing more on music at the cost of studies. When her father, Vasudev Rao, asked her to pay more attention to studies, an irked Sangeetha ended her life.

A woman hanged herself at her residence in  Viratnagar, in Madiwala police station limits. She has been identified as Ratna (18). Her husband, Gopal, is a milk vendor. It is not known why she took this step.

Rajappa (61) committed suicide by jumping off the terrace of his house in Swatantra Yodhara Nagar. 

Liquor seized
The State Excise and intelligence sleuths raided a house and arrested three persons in Annaporneshwari Nagar and Rajajinagar and seized illicit liquor worth around Rs 8 lakh on Monday. Police raided 182, Rajajinagar Housing Building Corporation and arrested Govindraj (28), Devaraj (26) and Nagaraju (30). A search is on for main accused Rajendra and the house owner. Joint Commissioner Eerappa conducted the raid.

BPO man killed
A BPO employee died after he was knocked down by a BMTC bus in Upparpet on Monday. He has been identified as Pron Jose (30), a native of Kerala. He was an employee of IBM call centre.Mohammad Yusuf (30) was driving his bike, while Jose was the pillion. Jose died of head injuries when the bus knocked them down. Injured Yusuf has been admitted to a hospital

Guard ends life
 A 35-year-old Airforce security guard committed suicide by shooting himself with a service sten gun while on duty at the 26 Equipment Division on Sunday.  A K Singh (26) from Varanasi was married to Manjula Singh (25) with two children.

Girl dies of burns
Mary (18), who had sustained burns while boiling milk on Saturday at her house in Byatarayanapura, succumbed to injuries at Victoria Hospital on Sunday night. Mary had discontinued education after she failed in SSLC.
