Resounding victory for Congress in Chintamani

Congress party led by Dr A C Sudhakar has scored a resounding victory in Chintamani CMC. The Congress has proved its control once again over Chintamani CMC by winning 18 seats out of 31.

JD(S) has won 13 seats. K H Muniyappa’s Official Congress which had contested for a total of 18 seats including contesting directly for 14 seats and supporting yet 4 seats  have lost very badly. BSP, Samajwadi party and CPI (M) have failed to open an account here.

A total of 125 had contested for 31 seats out of which JD(S) and rebel Congress had contested for all the 31 seats. However, Congress and BJP had contested for 9 seats each. BSP had contested for 9 seats and Samajwadi Party had contested for 6. CPI(M) had contested for 1 seat and 19 Independents had contested.
