HAL register   easy victory
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited registered a 3-1 win over Centre of Excellence in the DS Murthy and V Karunakaran Memorial hockey tournament at the KSHA stadium on Sunday.
For HAL, Dominic Savio (3rd), Rajesh (46th), Ilavarasan (50th) were among the goals, while for the losing side, Ramesh Kumar struck in the 45th minute.

Later, Army Service Corps scored a 5-2 win over Madras Engineer Group ‘B’. The winners struck through Deepu (10th, 13th), S Tete (27th), Harpreet Singh (50th) and Ganapathy (58th). For the vanquished, it was Noel Dodrey (33rd) and David Dung Dung (55th) who did the scoring.
Saturday’s result: Central Excise 1 (Mandanna 65th) bt MEG Boys ‘A’ 0.

Karnataka team for Mini Natls
The following playeres have been named in the Karnataka team for the Mini National (U-14) Volleyball Championships for boys and girls to be held at Bhilwara, Rajasthan, from October 23-28.
The team: Boys: Thejas, Madhusudhan, Nikhil Gowda, Tharun, Suhail Pasha, Rajshekar, Preetham, Karthik, Hemanth Kumar, Jai Jagadish Naik, Kiran Kumar. Coach: Lohit.

Girls: Jeevitha, Soumya, Sushmita, Roja, Ramya, Meghana, Bhavana, Varishta, Rachita, Ashwini, Sahana, Janhavi. Coach: John Wilson. Manager: Mary Roy Choudhary.

Rangers defeat         Town Sports Club
Rangers edged out Town Sports Club, Hoskote, by a solitary goal in the ‘C’ Division football league at the ITI ground on Sunday. Elvis scored the all-important goal two minutes into the second session.
On Saturday, ITC shared honours with ISRO while netting one goal each. Sanjay put ITC ahead in the 57th minute while Santosh Raj drew level nine minutes later. In another tie on the same day, Bangalore Youngsters and Bangalore Wanderers too split points in a goalless tie.

Meanwhile, the ‘C’ Division matches undergoing at the Malleswaram Corporation ground were terminated from Saturday due to unavailability of the ground. The new venue for the remaining fixtures will be intimated later.
State throwball championship

The State Throwball Association will conduct State Senior throwball championship for men and women on November 10 and 11 in Bangalore.

The team entries can be send to Honorary Secretary, Amateur Throwball Association of Karnataka, #51, Gate No 7, Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bangalore on or before October 30.
The  championship will serve as  the selection trials for the State men’s and women’s teams to participate in the National throwball championship, to be held from November 30 at Patna. For more details, call 9448620169/ 9844048312.

State shooting team named
The following have been selected to represent Karnataka in the XVIII G V Mavlankar Shooting Championship to be held at Agra from October 24 to          November 2.

The team: Pradeep R Sail, Nagaraja H, Anil T M, Shiva M, Purushotham K, Vishwanath V, Janardhan S, Pratheek Nachappa, Meera Patkar, Kavitha V, Jeevitha Sachidananda. Manager: C Arivanantham.

NLSIU varsity   sports festival
National Law School of India University will conduct the seventh ‘Spiritus’ inter-varsity sports fest from October 26 to 28.

Basketball, football, volleyball, throwball, tennis, table tennis, badminton, carom, chess and squash events will be conducted.
