Quantum Corporation, a player in storage, backup, and recovery solutions is gearing up for expansion in India. The company, seeing 30-40 per cent growth y-o-y plans to invest $10 million in 12-18 months.
“We have opened our Quantum India Development Centre (QIDC) in Hyderabad last week to serve Indian and global markets. QIDC will support Quantum in faster time-to-market of new disk, software, and tape solutions,” said Richard E Belluzzo, Chairman and CEO, Quantum. In September 2007, Quantum launched an entry-level product ‘Scalar 50’ for the SMB market, which helps to integrate disk and scales easily to handle data growth, the CEO said while speaking to Deccan Herald.
Scalar 50 helps data growth cost effectively by scaling from 38 to 76 slots and supports disk-to-disk-to-tape strategies. Pricing for the product starts at $8,000.
