Bodies of two newly born female infants were found in different parts of the city on Tuesday.

In the first instance, the body, with fresh bloodstains resulting from the umbilical chord cut was found in a dustbin on Papayappa Garden, off Queen's Road in Shivajinagar police station limits. An eyewitness told Deccan Herald, "while I was waiting for my friends, I saw a youth on a motorcycle throw a cane basket containing the infant’s body into the dustbin. He then looked around before speeding away on the motorcycle." Police who arrived at the scene cleared the crowd and sent the body to Bowring hospital.

Another body was found on the debris of ongoing BWSSB drainage works opposite BSNL office on Bull Temple Road, Basavanagudi in Shankarpuram Police Station limits. According to an engineer, the workers and engineers were working till 12.20 pm and were present at the site till about 1 pm when they broke for lunch. Upon returning half an hour later, they found the body of the infant.
