InfraRecorder is a CD/DVD burning sofwtare for Windows. The utility has all the basic features necessary for CD/DVD burning. The GUI is simple and usable, integrated with Windows Explorer for easy navigation. Among the features are: Create custom data, audio and mixed-mode projects and record them to physical discs as well as disc images; Supports recording to dual-layer DVDs; Blank (erase) rewritable discs using four different methods; Record disc images (ISO and BIN/CUE); Fixate discs (write lead-out information to prevent further data from being added to the disc); Scan the SCSI/IDE bus for devices and collect information about their capabilities; Create disc copies on the fly using a temporary disc image; Create custom data, audio and mixed-mode projects and record them to physical discs as well as disc images; Import session data from multi-session discs and add more sessions to them; Display disc information and Save audio and data tracks to files (.wav, .wma, .ogg, .mp3 and .iso). MP3 burning plugin is not integrated because of copyright issues in some countries, you can download this plugin from the download page. Returnil can be a useful application as it protects the system from virtually everything. It clones a copy of your System Partition in memory and can create a file based Virtual Partition where you can save documents, data, and files while using the System Protection feature. Returnil can handle a 80 gigabyte primary partition within 128 or 512 megs of RAM, all it needs from your actual system is a bunch of settings that it can use to replicate. Returnil Virtual System uses a technology to clone your computer's System Partition in memory rather than on a portion of your Hard Disk Drive. When the Returnil protection is ON, your Windows system is running on a virtual partition, this means that every single change in the system partition actually takes place in memory. Therefore, all data and modifications will be lost after your system reboots. By restarting you PC, Returnil will discard all attempted changes made to your System Partition while Protection is ON. When the Returnil Protection is OFF, you can install or remove any programs, create documents, install security upgrades and software patches, alter configurations, and update user accounts. All changes in the system partition will remain following a reboot.
While Returnil works extremely well for temporarily installing and testing programs within the virtual environment programs that require a restart to install cannot be tested as the restart switches off the virtual layer.
