Thousands of fans of the erstwhile socialist leader, apart from the leading lights of Samajwadi party and leaders from other parties, will be attending the event.

Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday state party secretary S G Math said the programme was being organised by Bangarappa’s fans and well wishers and people from all walks of life irrespective of their political hue and colour will be attending the event.

A reception committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of veteran writer and former vice chancellor Dr D Jaware Gowda. Samajwadi Party national president and former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Mulayam Singh Yadav will preside over the event and submit a purse to Bangarappa.

In all three volumes will be released on the occasion. Telugu Desam President and former AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will be releasing the felicitation volume ‘Sarekoppa Bangarappa’ while National Conference leader and former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdulla will release the souvenir ‘Bangarappa - 75’. Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy will release the volume ‘Bangarappa - Sadana Spandana’. Union Minister of State for Planning M V Rajashekharan will deliver the felicitation speech. Samajwadi Party leaders Jaya Bachchan and Jayaprada, and Assam Gana Parishad leader Brindavan Goswamy will participate in the function.
Replying to a question Math said that the organisation of SP had begun from the booth level as elections to the state assembly were likely to be held at any time.

He said the party was fully prepared to face the elections.
