On his maiden visit to Delhi after taking over as Karnataka Governor, Rameshwar Thakur on Tuesday called on President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Home Minister Shivraj Patil.
The governor was understood to have brief the leaders on the political situation in the State but his aides indicated that he was primarily visiting Delhi to inform them of the developmental activities that he was planning to take up in the State which is under President’s rule for a fortnight now. They said the governor also discussed the issue of Datta Peeta controversy.
The governor is scheduled to meet Vice-President Hamid Ansari on Wednesday and return to Bangalore on Thursday.
