Life term for killing wife
Karwar: The JMFC Court, Karwar on Wednesday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for killing his wife. Ramadas Nayak (45) of Hillur village in Uttara Kannada district had an argument with his wife, following which he killed her on June 30, 2005. Their son, Narayana Ramadas Nayak, was the witness. Ankola police registered the case.
BJP yatra put off
Bangalore: The BJP has postponed its third phase of “Jana Jagruthi” yatra scheduled to start from October 26 to the first week of November. The third phase will cover Kogadu, Hassan, Chamarajnagar, Mysore, Kolar, and Mandya districts. Prevailing heavy rains in the districts is the reason cited by the BJP for the postponement.
Sugarcane growers’ protest
Bangalore: Members of State Sugarcane Growers Association will stage a protest rally ‘Bangalore Rajbhavan Chalo’ on October 29 at 11 am demanding that the government fulfill their demands. The rally will start from City railway station.
