A software engineer was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a hospital toilet on Thursday. He has been identified as Harsha Bagade (31), a resident of Hassan.

The airport police said the body was found in Manipal Hospital. He was neither being treated at the hospital, nor had he come to see any patients.

Police suspect he could have been strangled to death. Sources said a love affair could be the reason. They said Harsha had an affair with some nurses in the hospital.

Opposition
A suicide is also not ruled out. One of Harsha's friends said he was in love with a girl. While he had promised to marry her, his parents were opposed to the relationship. It is suspected Harsha might have ended his life following pressure from his as well as the girl’s parents.

The post-mortem report is awaited.
