Four killed as tempo hits truck

 Four persons were killed and one seriously injured when a tempo in which they were travelling rammed into a truck at Sulibele, near here, late on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Konappa (30), Gangaraju (32), Bayyareddy (25) and Venkatarayappa (30), all farmers from Hanumayyagarahalli near Chintamani. Tempo driver Manjunath has been admitted to Bowring Hospital with injuries. According to the police, Manjunath lost control and rammed into a stationary truck, killing the four instantly.

Rash driving by tempo driver is said to be reason for the mishap.

House burgled
Valuables worth Rs 3 lakh were stolen from a house in Kaggadasapura on Wednesday night. According to the police, Leena, the owner of a flat in Angles Apartment was away when the incident occurred. The front door lock had been broken open, said the police.

Suicide
A 40-year-old woman committed suicide at her residence in Hebbal police limits on Wednesday evening. The deceased has been identified as Lakshmamma.

She took this extreme step as she was disillusioned in life. Lakshmamma was second wife to Kannappa. The couple were staying in Chennappa Layout in Hebbal. She requested her husband Kannappa to bring her some sweets. Within seconds after he left home, she hanged herself from ceiling.

Accident
One person was killed on the spot in a road accident in Bidadi on late Wednesday night. The deceased has been identified as Rangaraju (28), a resident of Mayaganahalli.

 He was returning home in a tempo after completing his work in Bangalore.
A speeding truck that was coming behind the tempo rammed into it, killing Rangaraju on the spot.
