The presence of good number of fish in the Chikka Hagari is attracting youth force to have a big catch.
As the excess water in the Malavi reservoir is being released to Tungabhadra river through Chikka Hagari, many people, especially youth are rushing there for fishing.

The fishhooks which had been cornered are now coming out one by one for a big catch. As soon as the water was released from the Malavi dam, the youth at the down stream near Chikka Hagari got ready with fishhooks to catch fishes in competition.

Big fishes are coming from the Tungabhadra river and people are enjoying various delicacies made out of fish. Water entering to the Chikka Hagari has become convenient to every one in many ways.

The dam authorities have closed the crest gates as the inflow has stopped, Assistant Engineer Sudesh Kumar has said. Even the water release to the left and the right bank canals have also been stopped.
