Classroom roof caves in
Raichur, dhns:
  The roof of a classroom under construction collapsed on Thursday at Sri Ramanagar camp near Raichur taluk. The headmaster of the school has been placed under suspension
The classroom was being constructed under Sarva Shikshana Abhiyana at a cost of Rs 2.46 lakh in government higher primary school, Sri Ramanagara camp. Zilla Panchayat CEO Anees Siraj who visited the spot ordered suspension of the school headmaster Hanumanthappa. A show cause notice has been issued to the engineer under the scheme.

‘Work together for development’
Raichur, dhns:
All Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat members elected from Deodurga taluk must strive hard for the taluk’s development, said former minister and MLA of Deodurga Hanumanthappa Alkod.
He was speaking after inaugurating a newly constructed bus stand by North East Karnataka Road Transport Corporation at a cost of Rs 75 lakh. Almost all taluk and district roads were damaged due to sub-standard work, he added.

Alkod directed NEKRTC manager to provide 40 additional buses to Deodurga taluk and also a bus stand at Gabbur.

Widen Haroorgeri road: DSS
Bidar, dhns:
Dalit Sangarsha Samiti has demanded the widening of Haroorgeri Road. In a press release, it said that road widening being undertaken in Bidar City should be extended to Haroorgeri also because in recent years the road was encroached.

Serial theft: 1 held, items worth Rs 2.5 lakh recovered
Kottur, dhns:
Police arrested a person named Ajjangouda Hoskere (32) in connection with serial thefts in Kottur. Four colour TVs and gold jewellery worth Rs 2.5 lakh were recovered from him.
Ajjangouda has reportedly stolen four colour TVs and gold jewellery in Kottur and Jogihalli.
Police picked him up for questioning when he was moving suspiciously in Basaveshwar layout in Kottur.
