Most of the tanks in the taluk are filled up following heavy rains for the last three days.
While Chorunur area received 27.2 mm rains, Kurekuppa recorded a rainfall of 39 mm and Sandur and surrounds 36 mm rains.
Most of the check-dams constructed in the taluks are filled up raising the hopes improved underground water table.
The tank near the Hulikunteshwara temple at Bommaghatta is overflowing following the downpour. Children and the grown-up enthusiastically swam in tank as if to celebrate good rainfall.
However, some farmers suffered losses due to the rains. Sunflower grown on six acres of land at Vaddu was damaged and pleas are made to the tahsildar to provide compensation.
