TTK Returns After US Visit
New Delhi, Oct 25
The Union Finance Minister Mr T T Krishnamachari who arrived here this morning after his visit to the US, Canada, UK and West Germany reported to the cabinet this evening about the result of his mission to get foreign aid for India’s Second Five-Year Plan. Soon after his arrival, Mr Krishnamachari met the Prime Minister and was with him for nearly an hour. Later at a Cabinet meeting. Mr Krishnamachari is reported to have acquainted his colleagues with the details of his talks abroad.
‘My film Is Not Anti-American’
Paris, Oct 25
Charlie Chaplin declared last night at a press conference that his controversial film A King of New York was not anti-American.
Chaplin said that whatever criticism of America there was in his film “any decent American would be in favour of it. Some people thought it was controversial”, Chaplin said.

‘K’taka Will Use Every Drop’

Chief Minister Gundu Rao has said that he is determined to see that not even a single drop of water from the rivers flowing in Karnataka is allowed to go waste. He has asked the engineers to prepare schemes, even if they involve heavy expenditure for the maximum utilisation of water resources for irrigation.
Mr Rao who was speaking at a function attended mostly by the farmers from Saundatti taluk at Manoji stressed that maintenance of peaceful conditions was vital for speedy economic progress.
