ADCs gesture

ADC, a provider of communications network infrastructure solutions on Wednesday (Oct 24announced a grant of $20,000 USD to Akshara Foundation, a non-governmental organisation.

The funds will be used to enhance mathematics potential among children through the "Math Capability Enhancement in Children" program. ADC also announced a contribution of $ 10,000 USD to the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled for the education of visually impaired children.

The Samarthanam Trust has been involved in pioneering work in identifying visually challenged children and equipping them with knowledge and support.

The "Math Capability Enhancement in Children" programme involves the provision of math education to nearly 5,000 children across 140 government schools. This programme will begin in Bangalore and gradually covering the rest of Karnataka.

This programme is expected to help students by making math much easier and quicker to learn. It will provide courses to equip children between Grades 2–5 with the necessary math tools to enable them to do simple mathematics quickly.

Spaced out over 6 months, the first phase (over a period of 45 days) will be a period of rapid instruction in basic concepts followed by the second phase of extensive practice through workbooks.
