Bangalore's oldest Hindi theatre group “Kalayan” will be staging a hard hitting and thought provoking play- Jo Peechche Rah Jaate Hain, written and directed by Mathura Kalauny at Chowdiah Memorial Hall on November 2 at 7:30 pm. This play is not only a wholesome  entertainment, but also helps in conscience building towards families left behind by our martyrs. The tickets are priced at Rs 100, Rs 200 and Rs 300 and are available at- www.kalayan.org, New Arya Bhavan sweets outlets, Supermarket-5th Avenue (Brigade road) and K C Das (St Mark's Street). For bulk booking call 9900566480 or email editor@kalayan.org.

 The Play
Major Sandeep sacrifices his life for the country. The play unfolds the anguish and agony of his father, mother and wife due to his untimely death. People are filled with awe with his extreme valour and supreme sacrifice. Media, NGOs and other organisations jump in the bandwagon of honouring the family left behind. Behind these functions organised to honour the family, there is always a motive of getting name, fame and money for the honouring organisations. The hard hitting play makes you sit up and take notice of the pretences some sections of the society have for the family.

Director and playwright
The play based on the short story by Dr Urmila Shirish, is written and directed by Mathura Kalauny, founder of Kalayan Theatre Group. He has 150 published short stories to his credit and his stories have appeared in all major Hindi publications of the country. He has written 18 plays, and four novels. Two of his plays- Jod Tod, and Kayapalat are very popular in Bangalore. .

Kalayan group was formed back in 1989 staging its first play ”Komal Gandhar” by Dr Shankar Shesh. Later (1990) the play Swayamvar by Mathura Kalauny was showcased. This was followed by Miss Aluwalia and Kayapalat (1991), Ashad Ka Ek Din (1992), Jod Tod (1993), Ek Tha Gadha (1996), Badi Buaji (1998), Kayapalat (2000), Vidooshak and Ek Aur Dronacharya (2003), Court Martial (2005), and Jod Tod (2006). Down the line it has positioned itself as the only local theatre organisation in Bangalore, engaged in producing quality Hindi plays.
