The Indian women’s football team takes on Iran in the first round away leg encounter of the AFC Asia Cup qualification campaign in Tehran on Saturday, reports PTI from New Delhi.
The Indians won the home leg at Gurgaon 3-1 on October 20 but the Iranian girls gave ample indication that they were not to be taken lightly despite being recent entrants in international women’s football.
The West Asian nation, in fact, had taken the lead before surrendering to Indians.
The match in Tehran will be witnessed by women only as men are barred from watching these games. The women too are not allowed in stadiums to watch the men’s team play.
