Eight injured in clash
Bangalore, dhns:
Eight persons were injured, four of them seriously, when two groups clashed over a petty issue on Annasandra main road, in HAL police station limits, late on Wednesday.

The injured are: Shivakumar (21), Chandrappa Reddy (50), Sandeep (22), Shashidhar (25), Raghavendra (20), Jeetan (25), Jeevan (20) and Sathi (45), all residents of Annasandra.
The condition of Chandrappa Reddy, Sandeep, Shashidhar and Jeetan is said to be serious. They are under intensive care at Manipal Hospital, police said.

Police rushed additional forces to prevent further violence. More than 200 police officials, including Karnataka State Reserve Police, City Armed Reserve police and civil police are camping there.
Twelve people have been detained for questioning, HAL inspector B K Umesh said. The situation is now under control.

Police said the trouble began when Sandeep, along with Shivakumar, Shashidhar, Raghavendra, Jeetan and Jeevan were returning home on their motorbikes. While taking a turn, Sandeep’s bike scraped a motorbike parked in the middle of the road. Soon, some youths rushed towards him and picked up a quarrel. One of them even slapped Sandeep, who retaliated by hitting him back. Soon, Sandeep and his friends were attacked by the youth’s friends with lethal weapons, police said. Police rushed to the spot and deployed additional forces.
