Three dalits were killed by people belonging to upper castes.
But the prosecution has failed in proving the case at the Kolar district 2nd sessions court. DSS condemns such developments, said State Convenor of Dalit Sangharsha Samithi N Venkatesh in a press release.
Dashed hope
“The government has failed in protecting the lives and dignity of dalits. We were hoping that at least the judiciary will come to our rescue. Even that hope has been dashed now. The government’s mishandling of the case is the major reason for this sorry state of affairs,” he has said.
The government should immediately file an appeal before the high court and a special prosecutor must be appointed, Mr Venkatesh has demanded.
