Rajyothsava preparatory meet
Mulbagal, DHNS: Tahshildar C Manjunath has said that strict action will be taken against all the government set ups including Educational Institutions which exhibit negligence and fail to hoist Karnataka flag on Karnataka Rajyothsava.

Addressing the Taluk Panchayat preparatory meeting on Friday at Taluk Panchayat office, he said that the Rajyothsava must be celebrated in all schools and colleges and no holiday should be declared on the day.
Pro-Kannada organisations during the meeting warned of staging a protest outside film theatres if they fail to screen Kannada films films five days, as part of Rajyothsava celebrations.

It was decided to felicitate ten achievers in various fields during the celebrations. Circle Inspector B L Srinivasmurthy, Block Education Officer K M Jayaram Reddy, Chand Pasha, G Nagraj were present.

Gudipalli weekly shandy revived
Gudipalli, dhns: The weekly shandy that were stopped about 50 years ago will be revived again at Gudipalli. Gram Panchayat Secretary Anwar Abbas has said that GP has made all the arrangements to hold the weekly shandies every Monday at Someshwara Temple premises.

Complaints reviewed
Srinivaspur, dhns: Lokayukta DySP Budal reviewed the complaints of the public on Friday.

Though it was scheduled that Lokayukta SP would review the functioning of the various government departments and respond to the problems of the people, in his absence, Lokayukta DySP Budal and C A Mahadevaiah accepted the grievances from the people.

About 17 complaints were received from the people and an enquiry was held on these complaints. Majority of the complaints from the people were against the revenue department and the land survey sections.

The authorities concerned were called and instructed to solve the problems mentioned in the complaints at the earliest.

Apart from inspection of the complaints, no other documents were inspected and no questions were raised on the functioning of any officer.
