Mangalore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) has received 150 applications for the regularisation of the unauthorised constructions in MUDA limits, said MUDA Commissioner M K Gadkar.
Addressing a press meet here on Saturday, he said December 14 is the last date for applying for the regularisation of the unauthorised constructions.
The regularisation drive will be held only once and not regularly. If people with unauthorised construction fail to apply for the regularisation even after December 14, action will be taken against them as per the Karnataka Town and Country Planning (KTCP) Act 1961 as well as Karnataka Municipal Corporation (KMC) Act 1976.
Ten steps to file an application
*Purchase a handbook for regularisation from any of the centres, Mangalore or from any of the payment clinics situated at MCC, DUDC (DC office),MUDA, Planning Authority/TMC Puttur, Bantwal, Ullal, Surathkal, Moodbidri/TP Mulky, Belthangady, Sullia. Application will be pinned to it.
* Take the help of an registered engineer in filing the application.
* The engineer will measure the site dimension, extent of setback left and FAR. He/she will record these measurements, actual permitted as per sanctioned plan or as constructed and whether the violations in land use, and extent of construction violation qualifies for regularisation.
*If the building has more than two floors, a structural engineer has to certify that the building is safe.
* The application contains a list of documents to be enclosed, they are to be enclosed wherever applicable.
* Purchase the DD for the regularisation from any of the scheduled banks in favour of competent authority.
* Separate DD must be obtained for each of the violations sought to be regularised.
* Hand over the application to the competent authority.
* If the application is in order and contains all the enclosures and the requisite DD, the officer at the counter will accept the application and issue an acknowledgement. Retain the acknowledgement safely.
* If the officer refuses to accept the application, then he will issue an endorsement informing why the application is refused.
