The Indian Oil Corporation donated an ambulance to the district administration. In a simple function organised at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office premises in Mangalore on Saturday, IOC General Manager (Karnataka) V K Jayachandran handed over the documents and key of the ambulance to Deputy Commissioner M Maheshwara Rao.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC appreciated the social responsibility shown by the corporation and thanked them for not forgetting what he had once requested and then forgotten.
Mr Jayachandran in his address said that Indian Oil Corporation is keen in community development and that they have already built many classrooms and provided books and computers to students under various schemes.
They are also involved in providing drinking water facilities and other basic amenities, especially in the rural belt, in co-operation with the governments and various NGOs.
Chief Divisional Manager Ullas M Kamath in his welcome address said that the ambulance will be of great help to transport victims of road accidents especially from far away places.
Head Quarters Assistant Prabhakar Sharma, Indian Oil Corporation Chief terminal Manager Paduvai Pathy, Deputy Manager (retail sales) Verghese Abraham and others were present on the occasion.
