Two days after he was granted regular bail by a local court in two cases of murder and one of sexual harassment, Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh on Saturday said he had full faith in the judiciary.
“I have full faith in the judiciary,” the Dera chief said minutes before appearing in a court here in connection with these cases.
The cases are related to the murders of former Dera manager Ranjit Singh and Sirsa-based journalist Ram Chander Chatterpatti and alleged sexual harassment of a sadhvi (woman disciple). He said the regular bail granted to him in these cases by a local court on Thursday was the victory of truth.
Later, the Dera chief first appeared before Special CBI magistrate R N Bharti in whose court the CBI had recently filed the charge-sheets in these cases and then in the Court of Special CBI Judge R K Saini where the trial would be held.
Tight security arrangements had been made around the district courts complex here in view of the sect chief’s court appearance on Saturday.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate and Special CBI Magistrate R N Bharati on Saturday directed the Sacha Sauda chief to appear in the special CBI court onNovember 17.
