Madras Engineer Group and Centre (MEG) posted their second consecutive victory in the State ‘A’ Division basketball league with an emphatic 45-33 verdict over NAL Colony at the Sree Kanteerava stadium outdoor courts here on Saturday.
The Sappers were quite comfortable right from the start and opened up a comfortable13-point lead at the half-way stage (32-19).
Even the heavy rains that lashed for a brief period could not dampen the spirits of Sappers as the last two quarters too went on similar lines.
For NAL, it was their fourth defeat from as many outings in the league and they now face an uphill task.
For MEG, Tinu Joseph headed the scoring charts with 11 points while Subbaiah proved an able ally by accounting for nine points. Sharath’s game-high of 14 points went in vain for NAL. Hemanth complemented his effort with 13 points.
Later, the match between Koramangala Sports Club and Sports Hostel, Bangalore, was washed out. The match was evenly poised at half-time with the score 29-29.
The organisers informed that all the matches postponed for the day will he held on a later date.
