The raids, which began on Friday in Bellary, Sandur and Bangalore in Karnataka, Ananthpur in AP and Mumbai continued the next day, seizing incriminating documents and concealed income running into crores. According to sources, it will take the department at least a week’s time to wind up the raid and evaluate the amount seized.
“The department had seized around Rs 200 crores of concealed income from two real estate giants in Bangalore.
These raids at mine owners and exporters could yield more. It’s however too early to guess the exact amount,” said the source.
The raid on the house of BJP MLC G Janardhan Reddy which began around 10 am on Friday, concluded at around five am, with officials taking out some suitcases along with them.It is believed that they seized many incriminating documents connecting the business interests of Reddy. Raids also continued on the residences of many of the Reddy’s partners .
