Woman killed in attack
Bangalore, DHNS:
A woman was killed on the spot, while her husband sustained severe injuries when some miscreants attacked them with lethal weapons at Holageripura near Sulibele on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as Vanajakshi (35), a resident of Bhavapura. The incident occurred when Vanajakshi and her husband Krishnappa (42), a tempo driver, were returning home.

When the miscreants, who followed them, suddenly attacked them Vanajakshi died on the spot. Krishnappa, who sustained severe injuries, was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Reason for the attack is yet to be ascertained.

 Bike thieves arrested
Shankarpura police arrested two persons on charges of bike theft and recovered three bikes worth Rs 3 lakh from them. The accused have been identified as Lokesh (19), a resident of Rajajinagar and Vinod (19) of Koodigehalli.

According to the police, the accused used to lift the vehicles parked in front of houses and in parking lots during night.

In another case, Chickpet police arrested two persons also on charges of theft and recovered two wheeler spare parts worth Rs 4 lakh from them. The accused have been identified as G Ahmed (24), a resident of Tannery Road and Raja (20) of Nayandahalli.

They used to break open locks of shops during night and burgle the spare parts, said the police.
