Mahima wears crown

 Mahima Aggarwal outclassed Deepali Karumbiah 21-5, 21-12 to annex the girls’ under-10 title in the Mysore Sandal State-ranking badminton tournament here on Sunday.

In a one-sided contest, Mahima hardly broke sweat as she powered past her opponent with consummate ease.
Both girls had won their semifinal ties with great comfort, Mahima defeating Aashi Gupta and Deepali overpowering Anisha Krishnan.

Mahima, however, crashed out of the under-13 competition, falling 17-21, 10-21 to Priya Prakash in the quarterfinals.

Also winning through to the girls’ U-13 semifinals were Reshma Karthik, Mira Mahadevan and Sindhu B, who all won in straight games.

Boys: U-10, quarterfinals: Mithun Manjunath bt Aditya Padiwal 21-6, 21-3; Nirmith Kaushik bt Syed Saad Ali 21-11, 21-9; S Vignesh bt Abi Amudan 21-12, 21-16; Abhishek Sonarkar bt M Raghu 21-19, 21-17.
