Rajput to stay on as manager
The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced that Lalchand Rajput would continue to be the Indian team’s cricket manager for the one-day International series against Pakistan.
Rajput was the cricket manager of the Indian team at World Twenty20 Championship in South Africa last month and the just-concluded series against Australia.
India toy with Sri Lanka
India routed Sri Lanka 6-0 in their first match of the AFC under-16 championship qualifiers at Dammam in Saudi Arabia, reports PTI from New Delhi.
Malaswamfela and Ralte Lalrindika found the net twice each while Bijender Rai and Mandeep scored a goal apiece to script a confident start for the Indians.
India are placed in Group C and play Iraq on October 30, Lebanon on November 1, Saudi Arabia on November 4 and Bhutan on November 7.
Karnataka girls claim title
Karnataka girls overcame Andhra Pradesh 2-1 to clinch the title in the 18th Junior (U-18) National throwball championship held in Nagpur on Sunday. This is the sixth consecutive time that Karnataka have won the title.
After winning the first game 25-11, Karnataka lost the second set 23-25 after a stiff battle. In the third set, which went to the wire, Karnataka reigned 27-25 to claim the title.
In the boys section Karnataka crashed out 25-15, 14-25, 16-25 against Bihar.

Kadam clinches first place
Karam Kadam of Team TVS, Bangalore won the penultimate fifth MRF National Supercross championship round at the Campal Parade ground in Goa on Sunday, reports UNI from Panaji.
Kadam was also adjudged the best rider of Goa leg, maintaining his lead with 182 points at the end of the 5th round, followed by SC Santosh with 156 points also of TVS (Bangalore) and Yogesh Barguje (Pune) with 154 points.

Siddons accepts Bangla coach job
Australian Jamie Siddons has accepted an offer to coach Bangladesh, the country's cricket board said on Sunday, reports Reuters from Dhaka. Siddons, 43, would arrive in Dhaka on Monday to discuss and finalise his contract, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said in a statement.
