Mohammad Kaif has been retained the skipper of Uttar Pradesh Ranji team for 2007-08 as a 14-member squad was announced on Sunday. The squad announced by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association also included left-handed batsman Suresh Raina and leg-spinner Piyush Chawla.

Simon Katich put his name alongside Don Bradman’s in the Sydney Cricket Ground record books on Sunday, scoring 306. Katich’s 351-ball innings for New South Wales against Queensland was the highest individual first-class score at the ground since Bradman’s Australian record 452 not out against Queensland in 1930.
