As the BJP-JD(S) legislators were parading before the Governor Rameshwar Thakur at Raj Bhavan on Monday, there was high drama outside.

Scores of BJP and JD(S) supporters who had gathered outside the gates of the Governor’s residence shouted slogans in favour of their leaders. Crackers were burst and party flags waved. It was celebration time for them.

The police who had been deployed in full strength  had a tough time manning the gates. The celebrations reached a pitch when BJP and JD(S) legislators were ferried to Raj Bhavan in four buses after a joint legislature party meeting at a nearby five-star hotel.
